While the investigation is still on going with a lot of questions still unanswered I want to assure everyone that Tony is doing very well in the loving home of a foster family here in Medina County. His Dad has been very cooperative with us and Children Services in the investigation. I will release further information when I can.
I would like to thank everyone for their kindness in wanting to buy Christmas presents for Tony, take him in and adopt him. You all are amazing people and why we have such a great community here in Hinckley, all of Medina County and beyond.
If anyone would like to buy a Christmas present for Tony we will accept them at Hinckley PD and see that they get to him as soon as possible. He is a typical 3 1/2 year old little boy and is a size 4T/5T if that helps.
God Bless and Merry Christmas!
Chief David Centner
We have identified the parents and are working this evening with Medina County Children Services on the investigation. I hope to provide further information later this evening. Thank you to our local news media for their help in finding the parents. Also all of the calls and messages to help Tony are greatly appreciated. All of you have renewed my faith and appreciation for the wonderful community we live in and that surrounds us. All of you are truly the best! God Bless all of you…..Chief Centner
At 12:16pm the Hinckley Police Department responded to Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery for a reported abandoned child. Officers arrived meeting with the witness who advised that she had stopped at the cemetery and observed a medium blue mid-sized car parked semi blocking the drive in the northeast corner of the cemetery. As she drove around the vehicle and stopped, she observed the vehicle drive away at a high rate of speed. It was then that she observed a little boy running after the car followed by a dog. The vehicle left the cemetery and went west on SR303 towards Brunswick.
The little boy was taken into protective custody and Medina County Children Services was contacted. The little boy only knows his first name as Tony. He did tell officers his mom’s name was Katy and his dads name was David. He appears to be about 3 years old, in good physical condition, approximately 3 feet tall, 40lbs, short brown hair and blue eyes. Below is a picture of Tony, anyone with information as to the identity of our little friend, his parents or other relatives are asked to contact the Hinckley Police Department at 330-278-7162 or the Medina County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center at 330-725-6631
